Britain Hasn't Lost The Love For Scissor Sisters

Let it be said that glancing at the songs, this is the most attractive and pop-friendly UK Top 10 in recent memory!

In 2004, Scissor Sisters were in a race against Keane for best-selling album of the year in England. They won, but still managed to somehow not end up with a chart-topping single. Their fortunes have changed in 2006, however, as "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" spends its second week at #1 on the British singles chart.

Fergie, alas, wasn't able to match her U.S. peak-position status with "London Bridge" in the UK (at least not this week). Instead, she's at #3. Incidentally, "London Bridge" was the first #1 song in U.S. chart history to have the word "London" in the title. And glancing ahead, The Killers look like a strong contender for having next week's top song since "When You Were Young" has debuted at #5 based on downloads alone.

Paul will be happy to see The Feeling hanging in at #9. And look who's at #10: it's internet fave Jamelia. It doesn't seem like all the blogger love in recent weeks managed to pay off with a high-charting single for the sassy dance dame. Still, "Something About You" becomes her sixth UK Top 10 single, the last of which was 2004's "DJ/Stop."

Finally, it looks like Snow Patrol have lost their momentum in their home territory. "Chasing Cars" drops to #8 the same week it rises to #6 over here.

The UK Top 10:

1. "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" - Scissor Sisters *2 weeks*
2. "SexyBack" - Justin Timberlake
3. "London Bridge" - Fergie
4. "Promiscuous" - Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland
5. "When You Were Young" - The Killers *new*
6. "Rudebox" - Robbie Williams
7. "Hips Don't Lie" - Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean
8. "Chasing Cars" - Snow Patrol
9. "Never Be Lonely" - The Feeling
10. "Something About You" - Jamelia

britain loves those crazy scissters (good pic btw) and yes i am thrilled that The Feeling are hanging around at number 9. 3 top ten singles all with a decent chart run is a winning combination in my book :) Disappointed for Jamelia (now she's produced a brillo album will it be Rachel Stevens flirting with success for her?) but thrilled for The Killers who well deserve this. All These Things only made 19? BAH!

Jamelia should push back her release until after the Killers album. Aren't they the same week. I predict that the Jamelia will sell well over the long haul.

The Killers is going to be huge. Next single "Bones" is GREAT based on a live version I heard. Melody melody melody. And the new remix of "Whe..." is hawt!

I am TIE-ERRRED of "Chasing Cars" - I chased em, but they keep coming around the block!

That is just shocking, that top three.

If anything it should be completely inverted, because I have to say that I really am loving 'London Bridge' more every day.

    It is shocking, but true!

You like "London Bridge", Hotstuff? You have a streak of trash in you that runs deep, child.

Robpop, all these reunions sounds sassy! Let's hope the groups do better music than Backstreet Boys did last year after their comeback. That was snooze central.

Is that Steps reunion ever gonna happen? I'd think Lee would be gunning for it more than anyone now!

    Did anyone watch Totally Boyband?

I watched it! Its sooo fab!

Its so damn pathetic. Dane Bowers is awful!

Bradley is really cute/sweet. They dont like Lee..he cant sing but then we knew that.

    Danny is 39!

Of course the record company people(the lady) who was in Totally Scott-Lee upstage the band.

I'm sure it'll be on torrentspy Jason. The Lisa one was. I've heard the song and its actually not that bad. But its not that good either. Dane Bowers dominates. Sadly.

I love the Scissor Sisters album now. I seriously want Rachel Stevens to try again now. Or Sarah Whatmore. Or Javine. Or Dannii.

Robpop: your soooooo funny!yum yummy dil summy!

Steps reunion!?!? Oh how I've waited for that since the cursed day Steps broke up, :.-(

I hope Jamelia climbs higher, I like her a lot more than that knockoff nonsense from the Scissor Sisters & the wonderful wig of Elton John.
